Isaac is Home!

We got the call at about 4:30 on Friday that they had made it back to US soil and were in McAllen, Tx. The bus got into Austin about 10:30 pm and we were so glad to see Isaac! That seemed like the longest week!
Kole could hardly contain himself! He had missed his brother so much. All week, if he saw a picture of Isaac or when we talked about him, Kole's eyes would fill up with tears and he would say "I miss Isaac".

Isaac had a wonderful time in Mexico. He painted, built bunk beds and played soccer with the kids. He made two friends from the church and bonded through buying each other Cokes! He also really enjoyed being with the kids from Tri-City and said it really makes him want to be back in MO going to school there.

I think he'll be fine here in Texas, too! Saturday he spent the day with some friends of his at "Austin Park and Pizza," which has bumper boats, race cars, putt-putt golf, batting cages, lazer tag and indoor games. While he was there, he recognized two local celebrities. The first one was D.J. Augustin, who is a Longhorn basketball player. Isaac asked for his autograph. The second was Derrick Johnson, a former Longhorn football player who now plays for the Kansas City Chiefs. Isaac went up to him and told him he used to live in Independence, MO and is a Chiefs fan. He also got his autograph.

On another subject concerning Isaac, he had 3 moles removed yesterday to be biopsied. We should get the results in a week. Because of my history with skin cancer, I am very cautious with moles. These were all very small but had some color variations. We are praying that these will be normal moles.

Kole and Aubri playing...

They had managed to get the empty sandbox into the playscape and were having so much fun that I had to get my camera. They are like 2 peas in a pod and Aubri tries to do everything Kole does. This is very scary for Todd and I because some of the things he does fall into the category of "don't try this at home, folks!" Aubri is Kole's shadow, good or bad.....
God has blessed me beyond my dreams. I look at pictures of my children and am awed that they call me Mom. What an honor!

Isaac's First Missions Trip!

Several months ago, my sister Kelli and her husband Rick invited Isaac to go to Mexico with them on the missions trip with their church in Missouri. Of course we accepted the invitation and have been looking forward to it ever since.
Isaac is 14 yrs. old and has been blessed with a servant's heart. My prayer is that during this week in Mexico, God will light a fire in him for the lost.We met up with the Tri-City bus at 4:30 a.m! Everything came together without a hitch and we were able to visit for a few minutes. That was the hardest part because I haven't seen my big sis in a year and I wanted so badly to take her to my house and visit for hours on end!! I had been preparing myself for this feeling, but it didn't help much! If you notice the look on Kole's face, you can see how sad he was to have his big "bruddy" leaving.... he sobbed in the car before Isaac left! Poor guy! Isaac told Kole he could sleep in his bed while he's gone, so that has been some consolation. Kole saw the picture as I did this and said it made him feel sad to see Isaac.
We will have no contact with them until they cross back over the border on Friday! I know God is watching over them and I will turn my concern into prayer. I'm so excited to hear all the stories and hope he keeps some kind of journal to refresh his memory.
Thank you Lord for giving Isaac this opportunity.
